Stay-at Home Proclamation, City Hall is closed to the public. Park Board participation
in the special meeting will be by teleconference/online only. Members of the public

Parks and Recreation Board meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month at 5 PM,
unless otherwise specified.
The agenda items are accessible on the City’s website at www.medina-wa.gov on Fridays
prior to the Regular Parks and Recreation Board Meeting.

MINUTES
1.CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL
The Parks and Recreation Board meeting of February 11, 2020 was called to order at
5:00 PM by Sarah Gray, Chairperson.
Board Present: Gabriele Dickmann, Sarah Gray, Rebecca Johnston,
Collette McMullen, Gretchen Stengel,
Emeritus Member: Penny Martin, Youth Advisory
Member: Shayna Lathia
Board Absent: Huan Bui
Staff Present: Ryan Osada and Dawn Nations
2.ANNOUNCEMENTS
Vice- Chair McMullen gave update from attending the City Council meeting.
3.APPROVAL OF PARK BOARD MINUTES
1.Park Board Meeting Minutes of January 21, 2020.
ACTION: Motion Johnston second McMullen and carried by a 5-0 vote.
4.PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
5.NEW BUSINESS
1.Easter Egg Hunt Planning
Board requested signage out earlier, work party planned to stuff eggs, discussed
KidsQuest to be a sponsor, candy donations ask will be sent out, Lathia will photograph
event.
2.Park Signage Update
New signage in the park will be rotated by Public Works Department to create
awareness of the park rules and expected behavior.

3. Park Board Vacancy
Discussed and will reach out to residents.
6. OTHER BUSINESS
Vice-Chair McMullen gave a briefing of a court case Martin v. City of Boise regarding
homeless population. Discussion on revising the city ordinance. McMullen discussing
with the police department. Johnston added comments.
7. PARK REPORTS
Fairweather & Lid Stengel reported the spike in the trail was removed.
Indian Trail McMullen reported looks great.
Lake Lane Martin reported looks great. Osada reported a sewage leak.
Medina Beach Park
Gray and Dickmann reported looks great and gardens are
looking good. Additional umbrellas will be added to the park
area.
Medina Park Osada gave update on Bocce Ball Court materials. Dickmann
reported branches need to be removed.
Viewpoint Park Looks great.
