PARK BOARD MEETING MINUTES

1. CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL
Chair Sarah Gray called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM.
Board Present via Zoom: Bui, Dickmann, Gray, Johnston, McMullen, Stengel,
Schubring, Martin (online at 4:15 PM),
Moe (online at 4:22 PM)
Staff Present via Zoom: Osada, Crickmore, Nations, Sauerwein, Chief Burns
2. ANNOUNCEMENTS
None.
3. APPROVAL OF PARK BOARD MINUTES
ACTION: Motion McMullen second Stengel and carried by a 6-0 vote.
1. Park Board Meeting Minutes of February 16, 2021
Recommendation: Adopt Minutes.

4. PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
5. PARK BOARD BUSINESS
1. Playground Equipment Presentation
Recommendation: Discussion item and recommendations.
Staff Contact: Michael Sauerwein, City Manager, Ryan Osada, Public Works
Director
Ryan Osada gave a presentation on the proposed new playground design and
showed slides of the new playground equipment. The representative from Haywire
Komcan, Peter Tammetta was present and answered questions from Park Board
Members. The Park Board members discussed the proposed layout and offered
suggestions for the new layout. The final design will be determined at a future Park
Board meeting.

2. Medina Park Playground Onsite Visit - Proposed dates
a) March 23 at 10 AM, or
b) March 24 at 10 AM.
Recommendation: Schedule the date.

The onsite visit date of March 23 was chosen by Park Board Members
3. Medina Park Signage Approval
Recommendation: Approve Signage.
Staff Contact: Ryan Osada, Public Works Director
Ryan Osada showed the dog rules signage to the board.
ACTION: Motion McMullen, Second Johnston carried by 7-0 vote.
4. Planting Update by Sarah Gray, Park Board Chair
Sarah Gray, Chair, gave an update on the planting. She thanked board members for
helping with this project.
6. OTHER BUSINESS
None.
7. PARK REPORTS
Fairweather & Lid Stengel reported new planting looks good.
Indian Trail Gray reported looks fine. Bui asked PW to remove blackberry
vines.
Lake Lane Martin reported looks good.
Medina Beach Park Chief Burns reported looks good and thanked PW for doing a
good job.
Medina Park
Johnston reported dog complaints, Moe reported there are
puddles in the pathways. Chief Burns reported they are
patrolling the parks and once the new signage with new dog
rules are posted, they will be able to educate people of these
new rules.
Viewpoint Park Gray reported looks good.
8. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 5:47 PM.
