HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-14-1987 - MinutesMEDINA CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES December 14, 1987 Medina Elementary School 8:00 PM 8001 NE 8th Street --------------------------------------------------------- CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the Medina City Council was called to order at 8:00 PM by Mayor King. The meeting was tape recorded. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Goldstein, Reagan, Vall-Spinosa, and Mayor King. Absent: Dietrich, Messmer and Yoler MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Correction: Page 2, second Para., under heading 111987 Storm Drainage Project: first line 1112 feet pipe" should read 12 inch pipe. Reagan moved to adopt the November 9, 1987 minutes as cor- rected, seconded by Goldstein, passed. ACTION Agreement with King County Library System for Library Service City Manager Dodge recommended the City enter into an Agreement with King County Library Services in 1988. Mayor King recommended the Council approve the Agreement. Vall-Spinosa made a motion to enter into an Agreement with K.C. Library System for the year 1988, Reagan seconded, passed. Right of Way License, Butler, 7329 _NE _18th St. Allen Dauterman, Project Manager with Demetriou Associates, was present representing the applicants. He explained the request is to place a 4 ft. high stucco fence 8 ft. into the public right of way. The fence is an extension of a required fence surrounding an outdoor pool. Vall-Spinosa moved to approve the license request, Reagan seconded, passed. The license was approved subject to all restrictions being met. REPORTS City Manager's Report The City Manager reviewed the letter from the Department of Revenue explaining the tax equalization program. He recommended the newly elected officials to sign up for the Workshop that is being offered. Director of Public Safety's Report - Accepted as submitted Director of Public Safety Anglin reported on the Dog Control issue. He met with the Animal Control Officer and stated they agreed to send the City a monthly activity report. Discussion followed as how to remedy the situation. The Council encouraged the City to enforce the Animal Control Ordinance. Financial Report - Accepted as submitted OTHER ,BUSINESS New Business Vall-Spinosa stated he would like to initiate discussion with Clyde Hill on getting 84th Avenue traffic problems resolved. He feels 84th Ave. NE is very dangerous as it is now and could use restriping. Mayor King stated he would like to focus on the following isues in January: External affairs, land use, community relations, traffic, public safety, communications, just to name a few. Claims Warrant Goldstein moved to accept claims warrant 3765-3879 for payment, seconded by Vall-Spinosa, passed.
