HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 0488CITY OF MEDINA ORDINANCE NO. 488 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES FOR PUBLIC PARKS. Section 1. The Following Rules Shall Apply and Be Enforced in All Public Parks: (a) No alcoholic beverages shall be allowed. (b) There shall be no loitering in or about the vicinity of bathhouses or restroom facilities. (c) There shall be no overnight camping. (d) No fireworks shall be allowed except for licensed displays. (a) No firearms, airguns or weapons shall be displayed or used., except when displayed or used by duly authorized law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties. (f) No privately owned motor -powered vehicles shall be allowed in other than designated parking or loading areas. (g) No motor boats shall operate upon waters within three hundred feet (3001) of the shore of a park facility at a speed in excess of seven (7) knots, or approach within fifty feet (500) of a roped off swimming area, except in case of an emergency; provided that motor boat may approach city docks at a slow rate of speed for the purpose of picking up or dropping off passengers only. No boats that cannot be hand carried to the water shall be launched from any Medina park. (h) No pets shall be allowed that are not leashed. (i) No fires shall be allowed in other than approved cooking containers or in designated areas. (j) Park sites shall be closed between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. (k) No horses shall be allowed. (1) All dog -feces shall be picked up by the owner or handler and removed from the public park and/or adjacent private property. (m) No non -tennis activities shall be allowed on a tennis court. (n) No loud music or vulgar language shall be allowed. Section 2. The Following Rules Shall Apply and Be Enforced at Medina Beach park: rm (a) Swimmers .must remain within the outer float lines. (b) All inner tubes and other floating aids must be kept within a designated area. (c) Swimming under docks or rafts is not permitted. (d) Life guard equipment is for official use only. (e) Sitting on float lines is not permitted. (f) Children under eight (8) years of age must be accompanied by an adult. (9) No dogs shall be allowed. Section 3. Violation: Violation of the public park or Medina Beach Park rules shallconstitutea violation and may be punished by a fine not to exceed $500.00. Section 9. Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect five (5) days a ter its pub ication or the publication of a summary of its intent and content.
