HomeMy WebLinkAboutSt. Thomas Church & SchoolCity of Medina, Washington PROCLAMATION St. Thomas Episcopal Church and St. Thomas School WHEREAS, Medina City Hall underwent an expansion and renovation project between October, 2010, and July, 2011, displacing City meeting facilities for City Council, Boards, Commissions, Committees, the Public and City Staff, and WHEREAS, St. Thomas Episcopal Church and St. Thomas School graciously provided the City of Medina with meeting room accommodations for approximately 85 general and public meetings and hearings held between October, 2010, and July, 2011, and WHEREAS, When meeting rooms at St. Thomas Episcopal Church were unavailable for City Council meetings on Monday evenings, St. Thomas School allowed the City use of its Commons Room, furniture and audio/visual equipment, and WHEREAS, St. Thomas Episcopal Church allowed the City use of its facilities for meetings including City Council, Park Board, Planning Commission, Hearing Examiner, Emergency Preparedness Committee, Development Services Department permit intake meetings, and City Staff meetings and trainings during the day and in the evening, and WHEREAS, It would have been extremely inefficient for City staff to drive to other locations to set up and conduct meetings, as well as confusing for the Public to hold meetings in multiple locations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council, Boards, Commissions, Committees, and City employees thank the entire Staff of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and St. Thomas School for their assistance and support in cordially allowing the City of Medina to schedule and hold meetings in their facilities over the last nine months.
