HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 410Resolution No. 410 Page 1 of 1 CITY OF MEDINA, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 410 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MEDINA DECLARING THE INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM. WHEREAS, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) administers the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP); and WHEREAS, The NFIP is a Federal program enabling property owners in participating communities to purchase insurance protection against losses from flooding; and WHEREAS, The City has been asked by the Washington State Department of Ecology to adopt a resolution of intent to join the NFIP. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Resolution of Intent. The City Council declares its intent to join the National Flood Insurance Program. Section 2. Further Authority; Ratification. All City officials, their agents, and representatives are hereby authorized and directed to undertake all action necessary or desirable from time to time to carry out the terms of, and complete the actions contemplated by, this resolution. All acts taken pursuant to the authority of this resolution but prior to its effective date are hereby ratified. Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA ON THE 13TH DAY OF JULY 2020 AND SIGNED IN AUTHENTICATION OF ITS PASSAGE THE 13TH DAY OF JULY 2020.
