RESOLUTION NO. 3 J
A RESOLUTION expressing regret at the untimely death of Police
Chief John A. Booth, and appreciation for his signifioant
contribution to the safety of all residents of the City of %odina,
by his organization of a Police Department and his faithful and
effective service as an operating police officer.
WffZREAS, a keen sense of leas is general among all
residents and officials of the City of Medina; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council dooms it most appropriate
at this time to womorialise the enduring contribution of John A.
Booth to the well-being of the community,

1. We here note, and this oow mtatty will long remember,
the qualities of John A. Booth. lie was friendly, kind and discern-
ing. Ac• was enthusiastic in his dedication to the safety of those
who live or might come to be in or about the City of Medina. In
the highest tradition of lam enforcement, his official actions were
deiiberato, expressing a reluctance to lightly pass judment on
others, but, when the circumstances required, in the equal and
effective application of the law, he was direct and forthright.
2. In the fleeting years since his employment as a police
officer in Medina, John A. Booth aeoomplished morethan could have
been expected toward assuring the safety of all our residents. He
organized Nedina's Police Department, equipping it for systematic street
:pa trot,., rescue service, and regulation of the operation of water-
craft. He organized a Police Auxiliary, and was particularly
active with our school children, hotb as to their safety in going
to and from school and In inspiring an enduring respect for the
lam and the agencies of its enforcement.
3. The passing of John A. Booth in a profound lose to this
eomm+inity and his universe of friends. ft hope that the contribu-
tion of John r. Booth to us Is not at an end but will abide in
the Inspiration it provides.
