WHEREAS„ Title VII. of the Housing Act of 1961 provides for grants to local public bodies to assist them in the acquisition land for open ce eof ssential to properts longnrange development aandpurposes welfare of where deemed urban areas; and WHEREAS, the City Council of Medina desires to acquire fee simple title to certain land as shown on the Comprehensive Plan for the City's development in the area between N.E. 8tha-ad12th and Street and 80th N.E. and its projection and 82nd N.E., which in accordance with said Comprehensive Plan is to be held and used as servation of naturalanent open resources andcforoparkB andnrecreation purpooses; and her WHEREAS, it is estimated that the total consideration to be paid for the acquisition of said interest will be # ,%e 000 ; NOW, THEREFOR, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1. That application be made to the Housing and Home Finance Agency for a grant in an amount authorized by Title VII. of the Housing Act of 1961, presently estimated to be $ a: 0eo , showing con- siderationafor hits iacquisition and ty of Meina lrelated l Pay hcost lance of e from other funds available to It. 2. That the City Manager of the City of Medina, Washington, be and he Is hereby authorized and directed to execute and file such application and provide such additional information and furnish such other documents as may be required by said Agency, executing such contracts as are required by it and acting as the Cityfs authorized correspondent. 3. That the proposed acquisition is in.accordance with the Comprehensive Plan adopted by Medina; Ring County, Washington, of which the purpose, inter alla, is the preservation of open space land., which plan in such particular has been approved by the Puget Sound Governmental Conference; and that, should said grant be received, the City will retain such land, once acquired, for the uses designated In said application and approved by the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
