HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 077CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION N0. AW �-7 A RESOLUTION stating that the City of Medina intends to exercise control over the use of public property. WHEREAS, the City of Medina is a public incorporation organized for the benefit of the citizens of Medina, and WHEREAS, the City has seen fit to ask for the dedication of sixty (60) feet rights -of -way for the construction of streets, sidewalks, utilities and other improvements highly affected with a public interest, and WHEREAS, these rights -of -ways have the same proclivity as adjoining property to develop all forms of ground -cover including trees which may or may not be in conformity with the public interest, and WHEREAS, the City recognizes the great importance of the aesthetic aspects of the Medina residential community and the obligation to cooperate Ath its citizens in the perpetuation and enhancement of these attributes, Noa, Therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA DOES RESLOVE AS FOLLOWS: That the City of Medina hereby rreIar' ies any existing uncertainty by stating that it intends to exercise auti�'er e*4t4ise of public property in the best interests of the general public, and that the City intends to cooperate with the expressed wishes of community sentiment to prune or remove brush and trees located on public.. property .There such action has been requested by an interested and affected community group and dhen the City prs convinced that such action is in the public interest, the latter being defined as including the preservation and enhancement of aesthetic values.
