I " A RESOLUTION declaring the Council's intention to adopt for the City the classification of noncharter code city under the laws of the State of Washington. WHEREAS the Optional Municipal Code was adopted effective July 1, 1969 by the Legislature of the State of Washington; and WHEREAS classification of Medina as a noncharter code city under such Optional Municipal Code would provide greater flexibility in the operation of the City's government and so ability to meet the governmental needs of the community, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: As in RCW 35A.02.030 provided, the City Council of the City of Medina does declare its inten- tion to adopt for the City of Medina the classification of noncharter code city under Title 35A Optional Municipal Code of the Revised Code of Washington. It is not the intention of the City Council that a new form of organization of the City's government be now adopted but that the same continue under the Council manager plan as in Chapter 35A.13 provided. It is also the intention of the Council that upon the expiration of more than Ninety (90) days after publication of this Resolution, no timely and sufficient referendum petition having been filed as in RCW 35A.29.170 provided, an ordinance shall be enacted adopting for the City the classification of noncharter code city with continuation of the City's present organization.
