RESOLUTION NO. 6V
A RESOLUTION authorizing application for funding assistance for an
outdoor recreation project to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation as provided by the Marine Recreation Land Act and the
$10,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue of 1964.
TMEREAS, the City Council of the City of Medina has approved
a comprehensive plan for park and recreation facilities for the
City's area which identifies a community park on Lake Washington dT_-
the south extreme of Evergreen Point Road as a top priority; and
NFEREAS, L.--r i._^ pr: =ior ci o Marine Recreation Land
Act, and the $10,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue of 1964 state
and federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available
to aid in financing the cost of land for parks and the construction
of outdoor recreational facilities of local public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the Citv Council of the City Cf Ncdina considers
it in the best public interest to develop with the construction of out
door recreation facilities the City Hall Park as previously acquired
generally located on Lake Washington at t;'cc south extreme of Ever-
green Point Road in the City;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Medina, Washington,
1) That the City Manager be authorized to make formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation for fund assistance.,
2) That any fund assistance so received be used in the
develcpmant and construction of outdoor recreation
facilities upon the approximate ".'± acre of land
previously there acquired by the City and if such
proves necessary or desirable the incidental acquisition
of adjacent land or easements therein and appropriate
landscaping,
3) That any property acquired with financial aid through
the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be
dedicated for use as ,gin outdoor recreation facility to
be retained in such use in perpetuity unless; as other-
wise provided and agreed to by the City Council, the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and any
a-fected federal agency, and
4) That this resolution become part of a formal application
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
This resolution adopted this loth day of March, 1969.
