A RESOLUTION authorizing application for funding assistance for an outdoor recreation project to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation as provided by the Marine Recreation Land Act and the $10,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue of 1964. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Medina has approved a comprehensive plan for park and recreation facilities for the City'e area which identifies a community park on South Creek and embracing South Park Pond in the southern part of the city as a top priority; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land Act, and the $10,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue of 1964 state and federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land for parks and the construction of outdoor recreational facilities of local public bodies; and T-WREAS, the City Council of the City of Medina considers it in the best public interest to develop -ith the construction of outdoor recreation facilities the South Park as previously acquired with its creek and pond and generally located adjoining Northeast 12th and 52nd Avenue Northeast in the City; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Medina, Washington, 1) That the City Manager be authorized to make formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for fund assistance, 2) That any fund assistance so received be used in the development and construction of outdoor recreation facilities upon the approximate 17.75 acres ofland previously there acquired by the City and if such proves necessary or desirable the incidental acquisition of adjacent land or easements therein and appropriate landscaping, 3) That any property acquired with financial aid through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be dedicated for use as an outdoor recreation facility to be retained in such use in perpetuity unless, as other- wise provided and agreed to by the City Council, the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agency, and 4) That this resolution become part of a formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
