HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 149CITY OF MEDINA, WASHINGTON Resolution No. 149 A RESOLUTION eliminating the requirement for advertisement and competative bidding for purchases between $2,000 and $4,000. WHEREAS, R.C.W. 35.23.352, as amended by Section 2, Chapter 89, Laws of 1979, allows the City to eliminate the need for advertisement and competitive bidding for purchases between $2,000 and $4,000, and, WHEREAS, the City desires to set forth the following procedures for securing quotations from enough vendors to assure estab- lishment of a competitive price. Now, therefore, be it resolved by the MAYOR .:AND -%THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Manager, or his designate, is hereby authorized to purchase supplies, materials, equipment or services, other than professional services, between $2,000 and $4,000 without advertisement and competitive bidding provided that the City first obtains not less than three (3) telephone and/or written quotations for such purchases. Upon receipt of such quotations, the City may either reject all bids or purchase the supplies, materials, equipment or services from the lowest responsible bidder. Immediately after the award is made, or after all bids have been rejected, the bid quotations obtained shall be recorded and open to public inspect- ion and shall be available by telephone inquiry.
