RESOLUTION NO. 180
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE BALLOT PROPOSITION CALLING FOR AN ELECTION
ON NOVEMBER 4, 1986, TO ESTABLISH A NEW TAX RATE FOR THE CITY OF MEDINA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Medina has thoroughly reviewed the present and
projected financial condition of the City and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council that resources are not avail-
able to continue providing present services such as Park Maintenance, Recreation
Programs, Street Maintenance, Storm Drainage Maintenance, Police, Fire and
Planning, without an increase in revenues and,
WHEREAS, it has also been determined that Street and Storm drainage improvements
have been deferred because of lack of financial resources and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Medina believes that it is in the best interests of
the citizens of Medina to make funding available to continue the present service
levels and initiate a street and storm drainage improvement program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
It is hereby found to be in the best interests of the citizens of Medina to
pass a proposition to set a new tax rate of $1.93 per $1,000 of assessed value so
that present services levels can be continued and street and storm improvements
initiated; and the City Council hereby goes on record of supporting the tax rate
proposition that will be on the November 4, 1986 ballot and encourages all
citizens of Medina to support this proposition at the November 4, 1986 election.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the City Council this 8th day of September, 1986, and
signed in authentication of its passage this 8th day of September, 1986.
