RESOLUTION NO. 206
A RESOLUTION authorizing application for funding assistance for an Aquatic
Land Enhancement Account project to the Department of Natural Resources.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 79.24.580, RCW, state funding has
been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land and the
construction of facilities for public access to, and aquatic land enhancement of, state
owned aquatic lands, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Medina considers it in the best public interest to
construct a multi -use recreation pier to be located in Medina Beach Park situated on
the east shore of Lake Washington, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESLOVED, by the City Council of the City of
Medina, Washington:
1. That the Mayor be authorized to make formal application to the Department of
Natural Resources,
2. that any fund assistance so received be used in the construction of a multi -use
recreation pier in Medina Beach Park,
3. that the City's share for the project will be derived from
the Real Estate Transfer Tax
4. that any property acquired with financial aid through the Aquatic Lands
Enhancement Account be placed in use in accordance with the terms of the
financial aid approved by the Department of Natural Resources,
5. that this resolution become part of a formal application to the Department of
Natural Resources, and
6. that adequate notification has been given and opportunity provided for public
input.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Medina, Washington, at its regular :+
meeting held August 12, 1991.
