RESOLUTION NO. 256
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT FOR SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUND
EXCHANGE BETWEEN THE CITY OF MEDINA AND KING COUNTY FOR
PROGRAM YEARS 1999 AND 2000
WHEREAS, the King County Project Evaluation Committee allocation of
1999 - 2000 Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds results in a level of
STP funding for the City of Medina that is difficult to apply for and administer for
the City's street projects; and
WHEREAS, King County could make effective use of additional federal
STP preservation funds and has determined it is in the public interest to expedite
transportation system improvements, however small, in all jurisdictions in King
County; and
WHEREAS, the Medina City Council has determined that the City's best
interests are served through this exchange of funds, which will result in the City
exchanging its $32,756 allocation of 1999 - 2000 STP funds for an equal amount
of King County Road Fund monies; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Washington,
that:
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign on behalf of the City
the Interlocal Agreement for Surface Transportation Program (STP) Fund
Exchange for the program years 1999 - 2000 with King County in substantially
the same form as attached hereto.
