HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 267RESOLUTION NO. 267 A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Medina, Washington, relating to proposed Metro Transit Service Reduction by King County in response to passage of Initiative 695. WHEREAS, the King Council Executive has proposed to cut Metro Transit service by 1/3 as a result of lost revenue due to the passage of 1-695, and WHEREAS, the City of Medina, as a member of the Eastside Transportation Partnership (ETP) and Puget Sound Regional Council, supports increased Metro Transit Service to reduce congestion in the region in accordance with the adopted Metropolitan Transportation Plan, and WHEREAS, King County through Metro Transit provides an essential service to the citizens of King County and the Puget Sound Region, now, therefore, that: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA, WASHINGTON does resolve Section 1: The Metro King County Executive and Council should reallocate County revenues to maintain current Metro Transit Service levels throughout King County, and Section 2: The Metro King County Executive and Council review all County services, prioritize and fully fund essential services in accordance with those priorities, and Section 3: The Metro King County Executive, Prosecuting Attorney, Assessor, Council and staff review all County operations to find more cost effective ways to deliver services to the Citizens of King County.
